In the April 18 draw, 130 invitations were issued to candidates in Prince Edward Island (PEI’s) Express Entry under the Labour Impact and Business Impact immigration categories which accounts to no. of invitations this year to 570.
The 113 Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates who got invited in this draw can finally apply to Prince Edward Island PEI’s provincial nominee program for Canadian permanent residence.

Express Entry and Labour Impact invitations
Prince Edward Island (PEI’s) Express Entry category is closely associated with the federal Express Entry system which takes care of the pool of candidates for Canada’s major economic immigration categories — Federal Skilled Trades Class, Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Worker Class.
Express Entry candidates who want a provincial nomination from Prince Edward Island (PEI) must first file an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).
These profiles were provided an Express of Interest (EOI) score out of 100 based on parameters like proficiency in English or French, work experience and education. The candidates with higher ranks are later invited to apply for a provincial nomination through monthly draws.
Express Entry candidates who got a provincial nomination were awarded an extra 600 points for their Express Entry ranking score.
It is essential to know that PEI’s Labour Impact Category is not associated with the Express Entry system but divided into EOI-based streams — Critical Workers, Skilled Workers (inside PEI and outside of Canada), International Graduates and Critical Workers.
Candidates who are under these streams must either be working in Prince PEI or possess an eligible full-time job offer from an employer of the province.
Prince Edward Island (PEI)’s Business Impact:
Work Permit Stream is for those suitable foreign entrepreneurs with business ownership who wish to invest in and later run a business in Prince Edward Island (PEI).
Besides, the Work Permit stream also functions on an Expression of Interest (EOI) basis and the candidates with low rank in the April 18 draw got a score of 107.
