Canada has invited 3,350 Express Entry candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence in the latest draw which was held on April 17. It is important to note that the cut-off score in a draw held on April 17th was 451.
The Express Entry system authorizes the pool of candidates for 3 of Canada’s main federal economic immigration programs – Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Federal Skilled Worker Class.
Qualified candidates for the above categories are later made to enter into the Express Entry pool and allotted a score based on factors which include – proficiency in English or French, education, work experience, and age.
The candidates who were ranked higher were invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through the draws held in the pool. A total of 27,900 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued by Canada to Express Entry candidates in this year, 2019.
In the previous year, Canada made a record by issuing 89,800 Express Entry Invitations to Apply (ITA), and a total of 21,000 ITAs were issued by April 17.
Since Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) got higher admissions targets for its 3 Federal High Skilled classes in the year 2019 and 2020; it is expected that ITA’s of 2019 will surely surpass previous year record.
Express Entry candidates who wish to increase their ranking in the pool might have several options for increasing their score, and the provincial nomination is the ideal option. A provincial nomination gives an extra 600 Comprehensive Ranking System CRS points and guarantees an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in the following Express Entry Draw.
