The combined targets till 2021 are slated to reach 160,100 new Canada Permanent residents under the new immigration levels plan was released last week. This will be an increase of 23% over their combined 2018 targets of 129,900.

The Federal Skilled programs, “Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, and the Canadian Experience Class” and the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) of Canada in together will account for 44% of the 1.3 million new permanent residents that Canada has planned to welcome between 2018 and 2021.
Canada Immigration: Admission Targets for 2018-2021 for the 3 Federal Skilled Immigration Categories and PNPs
The main driver of economic immigration of Canada is the Express Entry System. The candidates of the Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, and the Canadian Experience Class are ranked in the Express Entry pool on the basis of points awarded for the Human Capital Factors including age, work experience, English or French language proficiency, and education.
The candidates scoring highest ranks get the invitations to apply for Canada PR through regular draws from the express entry pool of candidates.
According to IRCC, 13,531 out of 49,724 new permanent residents welcomed to Canada through its PNP, were through the Express Entry linked PNO. This was a 73% increase over the admissions of Express Entry PNP in 2016.
Federal High Skilled Admissions
Federal high skilled admission targets are slated to rise by 18.5% between the years 2018 and 2021 under the new extended multi-year immigration levels plan. The number of admissions increased from 74,900 to 88,800. On top of it, the federal skilled admissions targets are set for per year growth of 6,500 in 2019, to 81,400. This will increase the Express Entry managed programs target to 85,800 in 2020, and 88,800 in 2021.
The PNP’s of Canada is also set to increase its growth in coming 3 years. The Canada immigration admissions target for PNPs are set to 55,000 in 2018 and will grow by 29% over the next 3 years.
PNP admissions target is set to 61,000 in 2019 that’s an increase by 5000 over 2018.
PNP admissions target is set to 67,800 and 71,300 in 2020 and 2021.
For the first 8 months of 2018, the IRCC data showed 45,595 admissions target through PNPs. It’s now less than 10,000 away from the annual target (55,000). Four months are still there to fulfil the target and it will be done for sure.
