The above-mentioned streams are part of Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) that allows nominations of a set of economic immigration candidates for Canada PR each year.
Manitoba issued a total of 351 Letters of Advice to apply (LAAs) for provincial nomination through its Skilled Workers Overseas Stream in the Expression of Interest Draw. The candidates invited under this stream has 576 scores.
Manitoba issued 106 LAAs through its Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream with the lowest score as low as 502.
The total number of invitations issued in December by MPNP is 1,022. This is the 2nd time in December that MPNP has issued invitations through its Express Entry pathway.
Eligibility for Expression of Interest Draw
For eligibility under MPNP, the Express Entry candidates:
- Must have at least six months of current work experience in one among the In-Demand occupations of the province,
- and a job seeker validation code.
The candidate must first register their Expression of Interest profile with MPNP for a provincial nomination consideration from Manitoba.
The profiles will get rank by factors like Education, Work Experience, and Proficiency in English/French. Manitoba will consider the connections to Manitoba like a close relative, or previous work experience or education in the province.
The highest ranked candidates will get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a provincial nomination through regular draws from the Express Entry Candidates’ pool.
The candidates will get an additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score on receiving a provincial nomination.
ITAs Issued Outside the Express Entry System
MPNP also issued ITAs to the Candidates in the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream outside the Express Entry System in 20th December Expression of Interest Draw. The candidates need to have the below eligibility:
- A close relative living in Manitoba or any past work experience or education in Manitoba.
- A minimum of 6 months of recent work experience in occupation from the In-Demand Occupations List; and
- Language proficiency of CLB/NCLC 5 unless work experience is primarily in a compulsory trade with CLB/NCLC 6 or a regulated occupation with minimum CLB/NCLC 7.
Manitoba issued 44 LAAs to the candidates in the Skilled Workers Overseas candidates with a minimum score of at least 718 under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative that include overseas recruitment missions as conducted by the MPNP.
