Out of total 104 invitations issued, 90 were received by candidates who have registered an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) in its Express Entry Category.
The Express Entry Category is associated to the federal Express Entry system which takes care of the pool of candidates for three major Federal High Skilled economic-class immigration categories of Canada which are 1. Canadian Experience Class 2. Federal Skilled Trades Class and 3. Federal Skilled Worker Class.
Express Entry candidates should register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) so as to get considered for a nomination from the province.
A score out of 100 is issued to candidates based on aspects which include proficiency in English or French, skilled work experience and education. Although job offer in PEI is not needed, but the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) states that preference will be given to candidates who are residing and working in the province.
Qualified candidates with the good scores are later invited to apply for a provincial nomination with the help of regular draws from the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP’s) Expression of Interest pool.
Express Entry candidates who got nominated by the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program PEI PNP received an extra 600 points for their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which guarantees an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in next Express Entry Draw.
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) did not mention how many among the 90 invitations were issued through the Labour Impact Category and received by Express Entry candidates. PEI PNP did not provide the minimum score necessary to obtain an invitation in the draw held on May 16th.
The Labour Impact Category comprises of 3 streams which include International Graduate, Critical Worker, and Skilled Worker.
Those candidates who were nominated through the 3 Labour Impact streams got their applications for Canadian permanent residence processed by the federal department of immigration of Canada outside the Express Entry system.
