Among the total 196 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) which were issued, 119 were grabbed by candidates in the Skilled Workers in the Manitoba Stream while 60 were received by Skilled Workers Overseas candidates. Seventeen Letters of Advice to Apply were issued with the help of the International Education Stream to the international graduates of Manitoba post-secondary institutions.
The invitations brought the total LAAs issued to skilled worker candidates in the year 2019 to 4,320.
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program lets Manitoba province to nominate immigration candidates with skills needed by employers in that province. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is one of Canada’s most popular provincial nominee programs which has more than 130,000 newcomers to settle in Manitoba since1998.
Manitoba stated that 27 LAAs were issued on May 23 draw were received by Express Entry candidates who got a job seeker validation code along with experience in an occupation on In-Demand Occupations List of Manitoba.
Federal Express Entry system takes care of candidates for the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Class and Federal Skilled Trades Class which are Canada’s three main economic immigration programs.
Express Entry candidates who got a provincial nomination will receive an extra 600 points for their Comprehensive Ranking System score. The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream are available to suitable temporary foreign workers & international student graduates who are presently working in Manitoba and got offered a permanent with their Manitoba employer.
Skilled Workers Overseas Stream lets the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) to nominate suitable immigration candidates living outside Canada who got connection to Manitoba like the assistance of family members, education / work experience in the province or an invitation through one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.
60 Skilled Workers Overseas candidates who got invitations in the May 23 draw were later invited through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. Expression of Interest (EOI) is the first step required for skilled worker candidates who wish to be selected for a provincial nomination from Manitoba.
Candidates need to provide the necessary information about their work experience, education, proficiency in English or French and they are awarded a score based on their answers. Candidates with the good scores are later invited through draws from Manitoba’s EOI pool.
The minimum score needed for an LAA in draw conducted on May 23rd was:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba – 548
- Skilled Workers Overseas – 506
Last year witnessed the MPNP issue a whopping 5,207 nominations, with 98 per cent grabbed by candidates in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba & Skilled Workers Overseas immigration streams.
